What a wierd day this is going to be!

I didn't realise I'd got so used to sharing an office with lots of people! Everyone who's in this week is now down in the hall for Enrolment.... so there's just me left in the office. It's really wierd already, and it's only 10:15!!!

After having created my own template for my blog, I've now created one for all the departments here to use. The idea came about because the Student Union want to have a Life Diary section of their website. So now we'll be using Blogger for any area that wants a blog, with my template!

Yay..... at last some great music on the radio!

We're listening to one of the local commercial radio stations and DD "Come Undone" has just come on the radio..... I want to rush over & turn it up, but the boss is in the office at the mo. Thankfully the radio's by my window....

:-)

awww it's gone now.... I did manage to not sing along!!!

Unbelievable!!

I was back at work yesterday, and by the time I got home I'd picked up a cold!!!! So now I'm dosing myself up on Lockets, as I'm not allowed to be off sick....

I'm working on another template for Blogger, but this time it's for work. The SU wants to have a life diary, and my boss suggested we let them use a blogging tool. Now we have to decide if we want to host the template, or if the whole thing should be on Blogger. I've worked up a nice design, but I can't show it to my boss til he gets back from his hols tomorrow.

Brand New Look!!

I've finally created my own template for this blog. As you can see it's very DD! In the end it didn't take as long as I had expected, but finding somewhere for the images wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. I was going to use Photobucket, but they have set hours for signup and I didn't want to wait another 5 hours! So I'm using Image Village (I think that's them anyway....) who seem to be as good as photobucket!

Cripes.... it's been mad!!

I can't belive it's been nearly two months since my last post!!!! Things have been really hectic, and although I have a PC and Cable modem at home now I haven't had a chance to sit down and get on with things!!!

First thing was that the College has changed names (that's where I work as a web designer) and is now an Institute.... so tons of work there for my colleague and I to get on with! New colours, new logo, changing all references to the name! That took us most of July to sort out, but we got there!

Back at home, we found that my dog (Gem) had Pyometra. It's a really nasty womb infection, and if we had ignored things she would have died! So she went into the vets at the end of last month (3 weeks ago tommorrow!) to have an emergency hysterectomy. She had her stitches out 10 days later, and is a much happier little girl now!

Also at home we completed the purchase of the house on the 30th July, so it's now ours!! We've had loads to do already... new guttering to replace the 1940s wooden guttering which was causing us a major damp problem, and glossing the window frames. The fuschias in the garden are taking over, but for the first time here we've managed to grow some Sunflowers! The Clematis are still growing, and one went into a second bloom last week!

I'm on hols at the mo, the 2 weeks ends tommorrow unfortunately. I'm trying to get some chillout time too, but that's not been too easy!! I've had to re-write the ads for Paul & Alan's Ebay! I've now got the X-Files PS2 game to play... it's hard but fun!!! I've managed to get both Scully and Mulder killed so far, and I'm only playing as Scully at the mo!!!! I'm getting to watch some telly..... Paul got me started on Hornblower a couple of weeks back... it had never appealed, but he said "it's Sharpe on water, you'll enjoy it!" and guess what... I did! Ioan Gruffud is excellent, and Robert Lindsay is as fantastic as ever. It got us thinking about other stuff Robert Lindsay has been in, and I'd love to see Citizen Smith again!!! The weird thing is that I was watching Hornblower and it suddenly dawned on me that I've had a crush on Robert Lindsay for years!!! Oh well, you learn something new everyday!!! Seems I'm into older men at the moment.... Simon Le Bon's in his 40s, so's David Duchovny (44 earlier this month) and Robert Lindsay is in his 50s..... and there's me a mere slip of a lass at 31 (going on 32)!!!

Watched Star Trek:Nemesis the other day on Sky Movies.... what a brilliant film!!! The best ST yet.... really great effects... I was gobsmacked at the Enterprise E, wow..... I want that on DVD now, I bet the extras are brilliant.... my advice is watch it!

I had an appointment at the Hospital this week to see the Orthopeadic team about my arm. The consultant confirmed that I have Golfer's Elbow, most likely caused by mouse use in my job! He said that they can operate, but they only have a 60% success rate. He wants me to think about it, and see if I can isolate any other causes of the pain and remove them from my life.... I have to go back in November to see how things are going. The thought of the operation is scary, but I'm not sure if there's anything else I can cut out of my life that causes the pain!

Missed out on an exhibition of Early DD photos in Brighton, the expense of the house and dog meant that we didn't have enough money to go down, which is a shame! I did send my brother an email with a list of photos I'd like if anyone's stuck for my birthday, but that was somewhat tongue in cheek, and I don't expect anything.... it would be nice, but I don't expect!

I've recently found a couple of brilliant Internet Radio Stations.... 80sfm and Club977. 80s music all day.... just my cup of tea!!!! Internet Radio is the best! You really do get so much more choice!!

So, until next time.... that's the update!!! I'll be adding some weblinks over the next couple of days, and I'm going to work on my own template for my blog... something more DDish! I'm also going to try and get on with my DD site now that I have Dreamweaver installed!

Watch this space...!!!
