I've not exactly keep up with all those things I was planning on doing, particularly updating this blog on a regular basis - but I do have an excuse... I've had a particularly bad virus which made me really ill for a long time. Plus things have been really busy at work and home. Anyway, time for a quick update. The Mister Saxon 'mystery' has been revealed on Doctor Who - as most of the OG forum (including me) guessed, he's The Master. So yah boo to Paul who thought that was too obvious! Blimey... some of the clues were so clever that despite being really close to the truth of things, I actually missed some elements! Looking back some of them are blindingly obvious... but I can't wait to see how the last two episodes turn out. There is one thing which is bugging me though - Mister Saxon is The Master in regenerated Time Lord form right? So how is it that in all the times that The Doctor has been in the same timeframe and on Earth (Love and Monsters, The Runaway Bride, Smith & Jones, The Lazurus Project), how the heck did the Doctor not 'feel' the presence of another Time Lord? The 9th Doctor told Rose in Dalek that he would know if there were any others, he'd feel their presence in his head. But there's been nothing... I hope that's not something that RTD has inadvertantly missed (although that' unlike him). I suspect that there will be some kind of explanation in the next two episodes. And as much as I like John Simm (double squeeage with him and David Tennant on screen at the same time, how will I control myself?), and as much as I think he's going to make a good Master, I do hope that they don't overuse him. Unfortunately that was something that the character suffered from in the Classic series.
