********************************************************************************************************* MOST RECENT ENTRIES -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Monday, August 13, 2007 Perseids? What Perseids? Popped out into the back garden last night to see if I could spot anything of the expected meteor shower - which all the news broadcasts were saying would be visible from 10pm onwards... I stood there for about 5-10 minutes in my dressing gown, and didn't spot a thing! As I had to be up at 6 this morning I decided not to wait out there any longer and headed off to bed. I guessed I was probably looking in the wrong direction, and having had a look on the BBC news website it seems I probably was! I guess, looking at this that the best spot to see them will be from the back bedroom! I might try again tonight, although it seems the best show around 2am - far too late for me! I wasn't entirely disappointed by it, living in the middle of town there's so much light pollution that sometimes it's hard to see the stars. But, once your eyes become accustomed to the lighting conditions you can pick out quite a lot on a clear night like last night. And why am I getting up at 6am? I hear you ask... the car failed it's MOT last week! And the garage we took it to say it needs about £800 of work on it! So, until we get a 2nd opinion, or get it fixed, I'm having to use the bus to get to work. I have to be at the bus station for 7:20am and get back there at about 6:20pm. It makes for a long day, but at least I can get to work! posted by Unknown -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, August 03, 2007 News... Finally bought my own domain! About bloomin' time too! I'll try to get my OMD photos up there over the weekend... my fancy Javascript picture viewer gets screwed up by the way the free hosting on fortunecity works! And... the big news of the week is... Onetwo are supporting Erasure on their August/September tour of Germany and the UK! Why's that big news? Well... Paul agreed to take me to see Erasure in Grimsby - they're playing on my birthday! Yes... 7th September they're here in Grimsby! I was quite excited about that as it was, but to hear that Onetwo are supporting them has really made my day! I can't wait! If Paul lets me down though, I will be seriously pissed off! I've been thinking how much I'd love to see Onetwo live over the last couple of weeks, so this really is sweet news! Did I mention that I'm a bit excited? LOL Got to make sure we get front row again, and that I get right in front of Paul H! I have no doubt whatsoever that I'll end up playing air synths again! Oh... and I must make sure that I take my camera this time! I'd like really good shots... I should imagine that they'll be further to the front of the stage being the support act! All the better for me! posted by Unknown -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Social networking... Seems I've been caught by the social networking bug! I've finally given in and signed up for a MySpace account, although it's taking me an age to do anything with it! I actually don't like MySpace, but if I sign up I can get access to more bits and pieces on some band spaces (like OMD, Duran Duran and Onetwo). Got an invite from Chi (a friend I've made through the OMD forum) to joing Facebook. I've only got one friend at the moment, which is a bit sad really! But, I'm hoping that once I've 'met the family' properly I'll be able to add more friends from the forum... plus some of the girls at work are on it too. I'm busy playing and finding out what I can do! I want to get one of the photos they took for the work website to put on there, but I feel a bit foolish asking! Facebook seems a lot more logical to me. It's much easier to customise and add things to. I'm also a member of the OMD fan community social network. It's really new, and I was among a small group of about 10 people who took up the opportunity to beta test it. It's really nice and easy to use. Plus it's only filled with OMD fans! I've made quite a few friends there, it seems. Nice bunch of people - all on the official forum, but we mainly talk on the unofficial forum (it's a bit friendlier there, people are less precious! Not that I dislike the official forum). It's getting really hard to keep up with everything these days, but I'm trying! posted by Unknown -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- // *END OF NEW ENTRIES* \\ |
